What audio formats does StemLab support?
StemLab can import MP3, AAC/M4A, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, CAF, and AC3 files. It can also extract audio from MP4 and MOV video files. Ogg Vorbis is not currently supported.
What are the system requirements?
StemLab requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.
How long does stem separation take?
A typical 4-minute song takes about 30–60 seconds to separate. Results are cached, so subsequent plays of the same song are instant.
Does StemLab require an internet connection?
No. All processing happens locally on your Mac. StemLab works completely offline.
What stems can StemLab separate?
StemLab separates songs into six stems: drums, bass, vocals, guitar, piano, and other (remaining instruments). You can solo, mute, or adjust the volume of each independently.
How do I clear the stem cache?
Open StemLab and go to the library view. You can clear the cache for individual songs or clear all cached data from the settings.
Can I export stems as separate files?
Yes. You can export individual stems or a custom mix with your chosen volume levels as a high-quality AAC audio file.
